The Kelpie Witch

The creature of myth- The Kelpie Witch of Loch Lomond. On a full moon she transforms from her equine form to hunt for victims.

This project was the fruit of my digital creatures class.

The project concept is that we would create an andromorphic creature of myth, fully rig it, and then pose it for renders.

I chose to add another challenge to this project: to do it all in Blender3D (except for the texturing, Substance is just TOO good).

Development

This assessment was divided into two parts for modelling the character and then rigging them, which was good, because my early model kinda stank.

The second part of my project gave the Kelpie a huge glow up, and a colour palette change made to make her look more mythical.

Her costume was important in her identity. In the lore of the Kelpie, you can determine if one is shapeshifting based on the girdle around its neck. My interpretation is that her girdle becomes a silver necklace, with the back of it being the stirrup.

She also wears horseshoe sandals to hide her lack of toes!
